Ulaanbaatar Tourism Association has initiated and successfully been organizing series of exhibitions for domestic travelers, including those who would like to travel within Mongolia and abroad, help local operators to capture new markets by participating in travel shows in Russia, Hong Kong and the US. Both the city authorities and the Ministry of Environment and Tourism are supporting these projects throughout.
National Tourism Fair, held during the last weekend of May to promote sustainable travel throughout the country. One stop shopping opportunity for people to meet representatives of all 21 provinces, camps and spas, protected areas network representatives, purchase travel insurance, buy equipment and much more. Timing is purposefully selected to match planning period for most of domestic travelers. In association with the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Ulaanbaatar Tourism Department UBTA is working on preparation of the 6th Fair in spring of 2020.
Since 2011 both China and Russia have been pushing to develop the concept of the historic Tea Road by relaunching tourism products connecting the three countries. Much effort has been invested into developing joint programs as well as promoting trips between the countries. As a result with support of the city of Ulaanbaatar UBTA has been organizing participation of the mongolian companies in the regional travel show called Baikaltour.
Hong Kong ITE is the largest, one stop platform to connect to mainland China and Hong Kong with worldwide providers. With support of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism UBTA has been organizing participation of mongolian entities at this large event. In 2020 the 34th ITE will be held during June 11-14 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
